•ELECTRONIC MEETINGS
City meetings are held in accordance with Public Act 228 of 2020 amending the Open Meetings Act, and the Ingham County Board of Commissioners' Declaration of a State of Emergency for Ingham County and with the City's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We thank our residents in advance for your patience as we implement electronic meetings during these challenging circumstances. Electronic meetings will be held using Zoom meeting technology.
Written Comments, Input, or Questions
City residents are encouraged to participate in City meetings. Comments via email are accepted until 4 p.m. on the day of the meeting and will be shared with the members of the public body as part of their agenda materials. You may submit comments/questions through the City Clerk at: cityclerk@williamston-mi.us.
Live Public Comment
Callers will enter the Zoom meeting muted in listen-only mode. During the designated public comment time, City staff will unmute callers one-by-one and ask if they wish to speak or may request callers to press *9 to electronically indicate a desire to speak. When commenting, please mute background noise sources and move to a quiet area, so that you can be clearly heard. The existing Council meeting rules apply – maximum 5 minutes per audience participant.
The Zoom software has been set so that only the area code and last 3 digits of the phone number are visible to staff and the public. Callers will be identified by staff using the last 3 digits of their phone number (e.g. "Phone Number ending in 123, do you wish to comment?") Callers must pay close attention to the meeting to ensure they respond when asked if they wish to comment or press *9. If a caller is addressed by staff and no response is given, or the caller does not press *9, staff will move on to the next caller.
Please be advised that there could be delays based on the number of calls received. The meeting will be recorded and posted to social media for viewing.
